Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is with great pride and honor that we offer to our congregants an anointed and spirited-filled Youth Ministry. Our goal is captured in Matthew 28:18-20 where Jesus stresses the importance of making disciples. He hints at a strategy within the verses including: (1) making contact with people and building a relationship with them (“go and make disciples of all nations”); (2) evangelizing them (“baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit); and (3) teaching them (“and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you”). We exist to reach and disciple youth in Christ, who through the local church will have an impact on their community. Some churches say, “Our youth are the church of the future.” Since God values youth, "The Tabernacle" believes that our youth are a part of the church of today. This means that youth are as much a part of the church as anyone else. Our desire is to help support the family in accomplishing God’s command of rearing our children in the love and admonition of the Lord. Our Youth Ministry has developed many programs and activities that will help parents lay a solid spiritual foundation and equip youth to be productive citizens who can serve as positive examples and mentors to other youth and future generations.
The foundation of our ministry is structured on the following five-fold mission/objectives: (1) Reverence through Worship; (2) Reaching through Evangelism; (3) Relationship through Fellowship; (4) Remodeling through Discipleship and (5) Relevance through Ministry. Our mission is to not only equip the youth at "The Tabernacle" with life changing Christian experiences that will prepare them for what lies ahead, but also the youth associated with the metropolitan community.
We endeavor to touch young lives by His Spirit by leading youth into a relationship with Jesus Christ; showing them why the Bible is relevant to their relationships, their future, and their faith; developing disciples of Jesus who are willing to serve others and glorify God with their lives. We are committed to providing the tools and resources that will lead our youth to a saving relationship with the Lord and help them grow in their personal spiritual walk with Him.
It is the prayer of the Youth Ministry at "The Tabernacle" that each program and activity minister to the families involved. The Bible states, “Where there is no vision the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18. So let’s catch the vision and together use the resources that God has given us to reach out to every soul and tell them about the good news of Jesus Christ.
